Privacy notice

Last updated: 14 October 2026

In short
  • This website doesn't use cookies.
  • Messages you send are emailed straight to me. They aren't stored on the website.
  • Visits are counted anonymously. Nobody can identify you from them.
  • I never sell or share your information for marketing.

Your privacy matters, especially when you're reaching out about your wellbeing or your child's. This notice explains what information this website collects, why, and what your rights are.

Who I am

Sherrie Akoto Therapy is run by Sherrie Akoto, who is the data controller for the information you share through this website. You can contact me using the contact form.

What this website collects

The only personal information this website collects is what you choose to send through the contact form:

How your information is used

I use your information only to reply to your enquiry and, if you'd like, to arrange a time to talk or book an appointment. I never sell or share it for marketing.

Because a message may include information about your health, I only process it with your explicit consent, which you give by ticking the box on the contact form. You can withdraw your consent at any time by sending me a message.

Cookies

This website doesn't set any cookies, so there's nothing to accept or turn off.

Website visits

To understand how the site is used, visits are counted with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that works without cookies. It records things like which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors come from (for example, a search engine) and the type of device, but it doesn't collect personal information and can't identify you. It also counts when the contact form is sent, but never what's written in it.

Services I use

A few trusted services help run this website:

Where your information is kept

Your message is not saved on the website. It passes through Cloudflare and Resend on its way to my Gmail inbox, where it's kept. Visit counts are kept on a server in Germany. Some of these services may process data outside the UK; when they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiry emails only for as long as I need them to reply to you and arrange support. If you go on to have therapy with me, I will explain separately how your therapy records are kept.

Children and young people

If you're contacting me about a child or young person, please share only what you're comfortable with. I'll talk through anything more in person or on a call.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

To use any of these rights, send me a message using the contact form.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how your information has been handled, please contact me first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

If I change how this website handles your information, I'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
